Shakespeare's Infinite Variety

The last installment of Flatwater Shakespeare Education Director Steve Buhler's Shakespeariences series for NET Radio, exploring the special qualities that continue to make the Bard such a vital cultural presence.  We are grateful to NET Radio's Nancy Finken, Dave Hughes, Genevieve Randall, and the late Bill Stibor for making the series of broadcasts possible.

Richard in the Round!

An Elizabethan-influenced theater space becomes a very modern arena-style venue at the Folger Shakespeare Library. Scott Zinke -- brother of Michelle Zinke, our new board president and longtime stage manager extraordinaire -- is part of the Bella Faccia team that engineered the remarkable transformation of the Folger Theatre.  Our friend Robert Richmond directs this version of Richard III, opening on January 28.  Follow the link to see how 'twas done!

The Best of 2013

The Flatwater Shakespeare Company again provided some of the Best of the Year in Lincoln:

Waiting for Godot, directed by Bob Hall and co-produced with the Crooked Codpiece Company;

and Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Becky Key Boesen, and (rightly) recognized as a musical!

Many thanks to 10/11 entertainment reporter Deborah Tuff and Star City Buzz for the shout-outs!
